Icon – The art of colour

I am an abstract painter, and my story with art began in high school. In those still uncertain years, painting became a refuge for me, a way to express what I couldn't put into words. Since then, I have never stopped painting.

Over time, I have found my natural language in abstraction. I am fascinated by what is not immediately understandable, what escapes logic and leaves room for instinct, sensation, mystery. My canvases often arise like this: from an emotion, a gesture, an inner tension.

A recurring element in my research is the female face. I never portray it in a realistic or defined way: it appears, dissolves, emerges among the colors like an echo, a presence that inhabits the canvas rather than occupying it. The female face, for me, is a symbol of strength, fragility, hidden beauty, but also of what cannot be possessed or fully explained. It is figure and background, light and absence.

Through the abstract and these returning faces, I seek a balance between chaos and harmony, between matter and silence. I never really know what I am looking for when I start painting, but I recognize it when I find it: it is that moment when the canvas stops being mine and begins to speak for itself.
